OUR DOGS - THE SIBERIAN HUSKY

Team Luna-Tic´s Morwen
About the breed The Siberian Husky is a typical sled dog. It is strong, cold resistant, persevering and suits owners who have a strong interest in outdoor activities. The race is bred to be fast running sled dogs and is mainly used in sled dog competitions.
Just to look good does not make an impression on husky enthusiasts in Sweden. A Siberian husky must unconditionally function as a sled dog. For a Siberian husky it is just as natural to work in a dog sled team as it is for the hound to hunt or the Border collie to herd.
Despite its good nature the Siberian husky is not your average pet dog. They are dogs which seldom can be let loose when outside. But of course good human contact is just as important as for any other breed of dog.
Neither when touring nor when competing does it falter under the tremendous physical and mental pressures put upon it.The Siberian husky is a typical outdoor dog, which just like other polar breeds has an enormous ability to withstand the cold. You can choose yourself whether to keep it in- or outdoors no matter what the conditions.
History The breed we nowadays call for Siberian husky has its origins with the Tjuktjerpeople in the most north eastern parts of Siberia. Climate Conditions forced the Tjuktjenians to base their way of live on hunting which was done over a vast area.
Team Luna-Tic´s Eldar
Their answer to nature’s demands was to breed a unique kind of sled dogs, tailor-made for the special needs their survival depended upon. What they needed and got was a dog with the ability to run long distances at maximum speed and minimal depletion of energy in an area close to the northern hemispheres cold spots.
