FAMILY WINTER ADVENTURE, 4 DAYS
Experience Jämtland when the winter is the most beautiful with the cold nice colours. Try ice fishing on Storsjön and some snowshoe walking. Have fun with the children going downhill on sledges and build your own snow cave. Make a day trip with the sled dogs and learn how to run a team of your own. You stay at the Huskylodge, comfortable & with high standard.
The tour is a type of self catered tour, all food is supplied by us but you do the cooking.
Day 1
Arrival & check in at the Huskylodge located at the sled dog kennel. We have two nice rooms, Thule & Toolik, both top standard with comfortable beds, private TV room &WC. The kitchen is fully equipped and for the week its filled up with food for you to serve yourself. We give you a tour around the kennel and say hi to all the dogs. We sit down and talk about the days to come over a cup of coffee and lemonade for the children.
Day 2
A day at he kennel starts with feeding the dogs and some kennel work, please join! You get to know our nice dogs and we show you how to harness, trying the sleds & go through the technique.
Today we make a half day trip around the nice woods in the area where you run your own team of dogs if you´re up for it, children sits safe on the guide sled with a big team of 12 dogs. We stop for lunch outside and will be back at the kennel around 16.00. In the afternoon the children get to try a small team of dogs to handle on their own on the kennel tracks around the house.
Day 3
Today is a true family day! The sledding hill and sledges is waiting behind the house. Build your own snow caves or perhaps a castle! Take a small trip on snow shoes...follow the marked track to a nice spot for camp fire lunch. There´s an endless of fun things to do with the children in the snow and the Huskylodge is always close to keep you warm.
Day 4
Today its time to say goodbye to the dogs, the winter & Jämtland. Hopefully, with a lot of nice memories that will last for a lifetime!
Please be aware of that the tour can be changed the last minute due to weather and snow condition- such as starting point, stretch, nightcamp e.tc.
