With small groups and personal service we give you the holiday you been looking for!!
28/12 Day 1 arrival Arrival and check in at the Husky lodge located at the sleddogkennel. We say Hi to the dogs, goes on a tour around the kennel. We take a look at the equipment and after a nice dinner together we talk about the week to come. Your first night you spend at the Husky lodge. We have two nice rooms: Thule & Toolik, both top standard with comfortable beds, private TV room & WC.
29/12 Day 2 Trainingday After breakfast we will have a training day at the kennel. We set up a camp with the tents we are using on tour and cook our food outside today. You learn about the dogs, how to harness and take care of them during tour. How to put out the stakeout for the nightparking and how to dig shealter to the dogs. The takeoff with a dogteam can be a bit tricky, so we will try that behind a scooter and then with a real team ofcourse! After we tried the sleds & gone through the technique you will feel real safe when its time to go tomorrow.
30/12 Day 3 dog sledding Early morning we pack the car and set of to the mountains. Its time to go with the dogs, and they will take you trough breathtaking views among the magnificent mountains and wilderness of Sweden.… let the adventure begin. You will see the most beautiful colours in this cold winter climate and if we are lucky, the northern lights! When its time to set camp, the whole group helps out and above all - take care of the dogs. Together we make dinner, some of us cook and some are melting snow for water to us and the dogs. We spend the night in a nice mountain hut.
31/12 Day 4 dog sledding We wake up to the first morning in the mountains, maybe we are the only ones in this area? It’s a nice feeling and totally quiet. After the dogs and our self had breakfast, we are on the way again. Today you should have the right “musherfeeling” and be able to master the sled. Sometimes it's hard work for us and the dogs, but when we see the delightsome view around us we are getting paid back. Tonight it is New Year's eve and we make a really nice dinner and have some champagne to salute 2011. We spend the night in a cosy mountain hut.
1/1 Day 5 dog sledding After feeding the dogs and ourselves, we put on the snow shoes to check out the area. Hopefully, it's a nice morning….take the chance to sit down and soak in the beautiful view and listen to the silence. We take off with the dogs for our last dogsledding day. At the end of the day, we take farewell of the mountains and drive back to the Husky lodge. After shower and our last dinner together we take a look at all nice pictures we took and talk about our adventure.
2/1 Day 6 departure After breakfast its time to say goodbye to the dogs, the guide and Jämtland. Hopefully, with a lot of nice memories that will last for a lifetime!
