Here
you can be a part of all, the work & life at a sled dog kennel with lots of
Siberian huskies. Learn more about the breed and see what happens back stage at
a sled dog kennel. Come and join us in our life with our wonderful dogs, Morwen,
White , Rover & the rest!
This winter we will have puppies at the
kennel, they will be born in the middle of october. Another event is that we're
in training for a long distance sled dog race during week 10, 2010. The
race Polardistance is for 300 km and takes a lot of training and preparation.

You will stay
in the Husky Lodge, the house next to ours and we eat most meals together. The
work tasks follow the season and are what we normally do at the kennel. You work
at least 4 h per day, if we go on a longer tour in the mountains it can take all
day. We try to do at least one overnight tent tour each week. There will also be
time for you to discover the area by your self.
A working holiday with meals & accomodation included in the price...
Only available during weeks 40-50!
Tasks:
Train the dogs, with
ATV during snow free periods & with sleds when we have snow
Feeding the dogs, fill straws, clean yards from dog dirt
Exercise the dogs in the play yard or walking
Take care of and socialize the puppies
Socialize the other dogs to of course
Take care of equipment such as harnesses, lines, sledge
Make tracks with scooter
Shovel snow if we're lucky!
Other
things to do in the area:
Opportunity to ski,
cross country & downhill.
Take a dog and go on a ski trip.
Ice fishing
Snowshoe walking
Just relax and enjoy the silence
