Aurora Tour Dogs

Your guide will pick you up at 19:00 from your hotel in Kiruna and will drive you to our kennel. When you arrive at the kennel the first thing we provide you with are some warm clothes for the tour. After getting dressed with warm winter clothes and boots, you’ll be more then welcome to say hi to our friendly and lovely dogs and play with the puppies

We will then harness up the dogs and if you want, you’re welcome to help us. Once everything is set up, it’s time to sit on the sled and head into the Arctic night!

The second we hit the trail, the dogs will stop barking and all you will hear is the crackling sound of the wooden runners on the snow and the panting of the dogs, with the guide’s headlamp lighting the trail ahead of you.

We will head north of the kennel, away from light pollution, driving through vast open areas, so that we can make sure not to miss the chance to see the northern lights, if it’s showing! Half way through the tour we will have a break in our Lavvu (Sami tent) to warm up and enjoy a warm drink and home-baked cake in front of the fire, where you will have the chance to learn about the dogs and the Arctic and ask as many questions as you want! In the meantime, your guide will make sure to keep an eye on the sky outside.

The tour lasts roughly 2.5 hours, back in Kiruna around 9:30pm.
